What a season! There will of course be a complete story to follow, but I wanted to at least share pictures from my family whitetail success that was found during the 2014 WI Gun season. This year I was blessed to be able to hunt with Bob, my 77 year old father, as well as my 12 year old son Jake, and 13 year old stepson Dante. The better part of the first 4 days was spent tracking deer, following up shots, coaching and of course...field dressing deer! However, on the 5th day I actually got to get into the woods by myself for a hunt. All 4 of us enjoyed creating success as a family...which was no small feat! My dad was able to take a giant, mature doe from over 250 yards (his 4th deer ever!), Jake shot a 6 point, Dante shot another huge doe and I was able to connect on a mature monster during the last hours of the hunt on the 5th day. All on only 30 acres of cover! Although much of any family whitetail success can be found whether a deer is harvested or not...we DID create a truckload of venison and I hope you enjoy the pictures:
